4 Days Armenia

The land was primarily split between Persian and Ottoman rule from the 16th century. In the early 19th century, the eastern areas became part of the Russian empire while the western part remained with the Ottoman empire. It was during the first world war that the infamous killing of hundreds of thousands of ethnic Armenians took place at the hands of Ottoman troops.

Day 01: Yerevan - Welcome City Tour

  • Arrival in Yerevan
  • Transfer from airport to restaurant.
  • Lunch at restaurant with indian buffet.
  • Check in at hotel. Hrsevening walking tour.
  • Republic Square: Republic Square is the Central Town Square in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. it consists of two sections: an oval round about and a trapezoid-shaped section which contains a pool with musical fountains.This architectural ensemble includes the government house, the History Museum and the National Gallery, Armenia marriott hotel and the ministries of foreign affairs and transport and communications. the square was originally designed by alexander tamanian in 1924.
  • Opera House: Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after alexander spendiaryan in Yerevan was officially opened on 20 january 1933, with alexander spendiaryan's almast Opera performance. The Opera building was designed by the Armenian architect alexander tamanian. It consists of two concert halls: the aram khatchaturian concert hall with 1,400 seats and the alexander spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Theatre with 1,200 seats.
  • Cascade Complex: The Cascade is a giant stairway made of limestone. It links the downtown ketron area of Yerevan with the monument neighborhood. Designed by architects jim torosyan, aslan mkhitaryan, and sargis gurzadyan the construction of the cascade started in 1971 and was partially completed in 1980. Inside the cascade, underneath the exterior steps, are seven escalators that rise along the length of the complex.
  • Mother Armenia: The current statue replaces a Monumental Statue of general secretary joseph stalin that was created as a victory memorial for world war2. during stalin's reign of the soviet union, grigor harutyunyan, the first secretary of the Armenian communist party's central committee and members of the government oversaw the construction of the monument which was completed and unveiled to the people on November 29-1950.

Day 02: Lake Sevan - Dilijan City - Haghartsin Monastery - Tsaghkadzor

  • Breakfast.
  • Our tour program starts with a drive to Sevan Lake Sevanavank: A monastic complex located on a peninsula at the northwestern shore of lake Sevan in the Gegharkunik province of Armenia, not far from the Town of Sevan.
  • Initially the monastery was built at the southern shore of a small island.
  • After the artificial draining of lake sevan, which started in the era of joseph stalin, the water level fell about 20 metres, and the island transformed into a peninsula.
  • Drive to Dilijan City: Dilijan is a spa town and urban municipal community in the tavush province of armenia. Usually called armenian switzerland or little switzerland by the locals, it is one of the most important resorts of Armenia, situated within the Dilijan National Park. The forested and reclusive town is home to numerous Armenian artists, composers, and filmmakers and features some traditional Armenian architecture.
  • The Sharambeyan Street in the centre, has been preserved and maintained as an "Old Town", complete with craftsman's workshops, a gallery and a museum.
  • Hiking, mountain biking, and picnicking are popular recreational activities.
  • Haghartsin Monastery: Haghartsin a 13th-century Monastery located near the Town of Dilijan in the tavush province of Armenia. It was built between the 10th and 13th centuries (in the 12th under khachatur of taron); much of it under the patronage of the bagratuni dynasty.
  • Lunch at restaurant with local tasting. Drive to Tsaghkadzor a Spa Town and urban municipal community, as well as one of the most popular health resorts in Armenia, located north of the capital Yerevan in the Kotayk Province.
  • Take cable car to atop teghenis mountain to enjoy panoramic view to the resort.
  • Drive back to Yerevan city.
  • Dinner at resturant with Indian buffet.
  • Transfer back to hotel.
  • Free time - can explore night activities at you own.
  • Overnight in hotel.

 

Day 03: Geghard Monastery - Carpet Museum - Tsitsernakaberd

  • Breakfast.
  • Drive to Geghard Monastery: Geghard is a Medieval Monastery in the kotayk province of Armenia, being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. It is listed as a unesco world heritage site.
  • Garni temple: the temple of Garni is the only standing greco-roman colonnaded building in Armenia and the former soviet union. An ionic temple located in the Village of Garni, Armenia, it is the best-known structure and symbol of Pre-Christian Armenia.
  • Drive back to city Yerevan.
  • Lunch at restaurant with Indian buffet.
  • Visit megerian Carpet Museum.
  • Visit Tsitsernakaberd: the Armenian genocide memorial complex is Armenia's official memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian genocide, built in 1967 on the hill of Tsitsernakaberd. Every year on april 24 the Armenian genocide remembrance day thousands of armenians gather at the memorial to commemorate the victims of the genocide. The people who gather in tsiternakaberd lay fresh flowers out of respect for all the people who died in the Armenian Genocide. Over the years, from around the world, a wide range of politicians, artists, musician, athletes, and religious figures have visited the memorial. Vernissaje Market: Yerevan Vernissage is a large open-air market in Yerevan, Armenia. The name of the market is the derived from the french word Vernissage. The market lies along aram and Buzand Streets at a length of 350 metres, connecting the Hanrapetutyun Street with the Khanjyan Street. The market mainly features a collection of different types of traditional Armenian Art works.

  • The bus will move accordingly to time schedule mentioned on program.
